"You wanna know about Reb?"

"Oh hell."

"Well, let me tell you a little bit about ol'Reb, or better yet, some of the shit that's been left behind in his wake.  He's the most inconsistent-consistent man you'll ever meet if you're unlucky enough to fall into his presence. One of those no-bullshitter types that says exactly what he's thinking without consideration of the outcome. It's rude if you should ask me."

"He's got a pension for terrible, bottom-shelf whisky, cheap Spirit cigarettes, and breaking hearts and homes along the way. But, most especially, he's never far from the love of his life, Dolly."

"By the way, Dolly is vintage Gretsch that he's been strumming for eons and won't even put down for a puff and pass or a swallow. I'm pretty sure he sleeps with that dang guitar. I seen a guy reach for Dolly once, and the reach was as far as he got."

"Unfortunately, I can't talk much more about it because the investigation is ongoing, and those boys down at the police station are still looking to talk to Reb. Good luck to them. They won't find him not unless Reb wants them to. They can't even get anyone to give them a good description of him and no way they're finding a picture of Reb. Even of him as a baby. There's not one. Pretty sure that old cat just materialized on this planet at some point with guitar in hand. He's no real family to speak of and he's never brought up his mama."

"For one reason or another, people are drawn to this asshole. He'll burn ya but not on purpose. Not like you think, anyhow.  Women have this idea that they can love him into change and settling down. Men either want to be him or take the life from him. Either way, it don't end well for nobody. I guess that's why he's always moving. He's a magnet for trouble. Hell, he is the trouble, and completely unaware of the chaos left behind. It'll drive anyone to do some crazy shit."

"But for Reb, it's all in the music. Nothings been able to hold him like his songs do. You see it when he plays that first note. It's just him and Dolly up there on that stage along with his pain, fear, and love on full, uninhibited display. If you're not careful, it'll get you and shake you up real good. Hell, I don't mind admitting that he's gotten into me and meddled with my own memories. It changes something in you that's been needing to be changed."
