WHAT OTHER INSTRUMENTS DO YOU PLAY?

"Rhythm and lead guitar, as well as piano, bass guitar, didgeridoo, a bit of clarinet, harmonica, and basic drumming from time to time. I will attempt to play any instrument that I have the opportunity to. I am vocally inclined."

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
​
"Currently, I am working on songs for our second album, specifically "Dog in Heat" and "As She Falls (asleep)" This normally involves finding a lick and sound then a lot of mumbling an humming until the words start to appear."

WHERE DID YOUR BAND NAME COME FROM?
​
"Reb was an early to mid eighties Gibson Epiphone Stratocaster copy that was red and white. JACOBS is from the same cloth but was white and black. All subsequent guitars and musical devices are known as The Flying Pioneers... REB JACOBS and the FLYING PIONEERS."

WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL AS IT RELATES TO YOUR MUSIC?

"My ultimate goal is to bring our music to the masses for their pure rock enjoyment. Music is in my soul...it runs through my veins. I want to share that passion and bring back true fucking rock and roll like I grew up with."

HOW DID YOU ALL MEET?
​
"Well it's a pretty simple story and kind of a funny one at that. I was hanging out at one of my favorite spots, The 4-Way Bar and Grill in Mico, Texas, just outside of San Antonio. This long haired dude came up to me, I found out later that it was Josh. I wasn't sure if he walking up to kick my ass over something I did that I couldn't remember or if he was going some other kind of direction. (wink). Anyhow, he walked up and asked me five questions:"
"Are you a drummer?"
"Do you own your own drum kit?"
"Do you own a home or live in an apartment?"
"Do you have transportation?"
"DO YOU WANT TO JAM TOMORROW?"

"The rest is pretty much history from there on. We've been rockin' since."

"I stumbled across a "Musicians Wanted page, requesting a bass player for a live show. I learned 7 RJB songs, auditioned, and got the gig. Then had to learn 20 more songs in under 2 weeks but it all worked out; show went great."
​
Love the music and the camaraderie amongst the band including the behind-the-scenes movers and shakers who make it happen."
